New Strategy, New Technology, Foton Automotive Brand Revitalization and Global Release of New Products

On October 11th, FOTON held its global BRAND REJUVENATION & ALL-NEW PRODUCTS LAUNCH event in Changsha, China, where the FOTON Super Truck Plant is located. Distributors, customers and media representing more than 20 countries worldwide came together to witness the FOTON brand strategy rejuvenation and the global launch of the all-new light commercial vehicle AUMARK and WONDER. They also had the opportunity to experience world-class commercial vehicle intelligent manufacturing processes. This event showcased FOTON’s technological prowess and strategic determination to provide global users with greener and smarter commercial vehicle solutions.

On August 28th, 2023, on the occasion of its 27th anniversary, FOTON embarked on its fourth brand rejuvenation journey in China. This event marked a significant expansion of its completely new brand strategy to the global stage. As a cornerstone of its commitment to sustainable development, FOTON will concentrate its efforts on achieving the “Dual Carbon” strategy, with a target to peak carbon emissions by 2028 and attain carbon neutrality at its core factories by 2035. In 2024, the company plans to release its first ESG report and aims to achieve full value chain carbon neutrality by 2050.

In terms of its new energy strategy, FOTON places new energy at the forefront of its development strategies. FOTON is accelerating the diversification of its new energy vehicles, aiming to establish multiple technological routes. It is also building a new energy industry ecosystem that encompasses vehicles, charging infrastructure, solar energy, energy storage, and intelligent grid integration.

In the future, FOTON will continue to introduce new brands such as electric drive systems, hybrid, hydrogen power, carbon assets, and more. These technological brands will empower FOTON and its various product brands, while the ecological brand will deepen the green and low-carbon brand essence, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

As part of the brand strategy announcement, two new products were introduced. The all-new AUMARK light duty truck has evolved significantly in terms of platform, reliability, efficiency, and safety, after four generations of product iterations. The all-new AUMARK is based on FOTON’s “Future Truck” Platform of FOTON’s latest multi-energy sharing platform, which features modularity, integration and low-carbon. It enables the simultaneous launch of products in four major categories: fuel, hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen fuel cell. In addition, it is produced by FOTON Super Truck Plant, which is the world’s leading intelligent manufacturing plant, adopting the polyurea spraying process, which improves rust and corrosion prevention by 50%; it meets the highest safety collision standard of ECE-R29 in Europe.

WONDER is a globally competitive new-generation mini truck created by Foton, which is both multifunctional and stylish, and can meet the needs of life travelling, personalized modification and commercial use on the basis of freight transport, bringing users a new SMART experience that is more than a mini truck. S is smart, WONDER adopts intelligent cockpit design, flexible braking and lane changing, easy gear shifting and steering; M is money-saving, fuel consumption is 5% lower than similar products; A is aesthetic, Italian ICONA team creates practical and aesthetic vehicle design, the industry’s first dual-patch colour scheme; R is reliable, complete high temperature, high cold, high altitude environment test, key components B10 life of 300,000 km; T is comfort, the use of sedan-class, embracing, diversified colours interior, the application of new air conditioning system, environmentally friendly materials, and other designs for users to create high-end driving space. The product comes with fuel and pure electric versions, with the pure electric version delivering a range of 280 kilometers on a 48-minute charge.

It’s worth mentioning that both new products’ electric versions use batteries from CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), a global leader in the new energy battery industry. In fact, FOTON and CATL jointly established joint venture in 2022, focusing on conducting business operations related to new energy battery leasing services.
