April 11th to 14th, Foton Global Partners Conference 2023 with the theme “TOGETHER WIN FUTURE” was held in Beijing, China. More than 66 core distributors from 55 countries around the world attended the event, which aimed to unite global strategic development directions and share the achievements of globalization. At the main conference on the 13th, FOTON held the delivery ceremony of all-new pickup TUNLAND V to Mexico, which is also FOTON’s 11 millionth vehicle. FOTON TUNLAND V is a high-performance pickup with hybrid power, which indicates that it is unveiled globally for the first time. This marks a new milestone for FOTON’s international product competitiveness, as it moves towards its dual technology path of “ICE+BEV”.

In fact, FOTON surpassed 10 million global sales in 2021, becoming the Chinese commercial vehicle company to reach this mark in the shortest time, only 25 years. In the past two years, amid a global economic downturn, FOTON’ “ICE+BEV” dual-line strategy has begun to show results, achieving a growth of 1 million commercial vehicles globally in just two years, of which overseas exports exceeded 87,000 vehicles in 2022, and have been China’s top exporter of commercial vehicles for 12 consecutive years.

As the commercial vehicle company with the most new energy products and complete technology lines globally, FOTON’ new energy technology reserve is powering the enhancement of its entire product line, as demonstrated by the release of its new products. As a high-performance and intelligent hybrid power pickup, the FOTON TUNLAND V’s power system includes hybrid, pure electric, and extended-range pure electric systems, with a chassis structure that adopts a front double-wishbone and a rear multi-link high-performance chassis. The entire vehicle is also equipped with multiple intelligent driving assistance and safety configurations, meeting the global user’s demand for strong off-road performance, high load-carrying capacity, intelligence, and luxury car-level comfort.

Regarding fuel-powered vehicles, FOTON has upgraded its value chain with a leading global intelligent manufacturing system and technology quality control standards, establishing a competitive advantage in the “SuperPowerTrain” core power chain with Foton Cummins, Foton ZF and leading global component suppliers. FOTON has continued to optimize efficient transportation solutions, achieving overall surpassing and leading in the truck business in core markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America. In Colombia, FOTON has ranked second in the truck market for three consecutive years and has the highest market share for heavy-duty automatic transmission products, while in the Philippines, FOTON has been the top-selling 7.5-ton light truck model for three consecutive years.

In terms of new energy, FOTON started the research and development of new energy vehicle technology as early as 2003, becoming the first Chinese company to commercialize hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and pure electric products. It successfully served international high-end events such as the 2008 and 2022 Olympic Games. After nearly 20 years of fierce competition in the world’s most competitive new energy industry in China, FOTON has achieved comprehensive and rapid development in commercial vehicle new energy technology and product applications and is moving towards the world. In this event, FOTON’s overseas IOV system was officially launched, providing functions that cover fleet management, location services, fuel consumption analysis, three-electricity analysis, and TCO management for both fuel vehicles and new energy products. The system will be first applied in Singapore, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand. In fact, FOTON has always been at the forefront of the commercial vehicle interconnected technology market. In 2018, it obtained the first commercial vehicle autonomous driving social road test license in China and completed the first open verification test of heavy-duty truck autonomous driving platooning in 2019. FOTON has now established a closed-loop intelligent network ecosystem in China, with over 2.26 million connected vehicles. With the popularization of IOV system in the overseas market, FOTON will empower global users and enhance their operational value.
